Dermal fillers such as Juvederm® can help you look as young as you feel throughout the aging process. David Stoll, MD, provides these minimally invasive treatments, which add volume and plumpness to specific areas of your face, such as your lips and cheeks. To find out if injectable fillers are right for you and your goals, call David Stoll, MD, or book your consultation online.
Fillers add volume to particular facial areas, restoring fullness without the need for surgery or downtime, and Juvederm is the top-selling line of hyaluronic acid fillers in the United States.
Fillers Dr. Stoll uses are formulated to either lift your cheeks, smooth lines around your mouth known as “smile lines” or “smoker’s lines,” add plumpness to your lips, or smooth wrinkles near your nose. You may benefit from one type of filler or a combination of two or more.
Your dermal filler treatment session may take 15 minutes to an hour, depending on how many injections you receive and in which areas of your face. Before starting the injection process, Dr. Stoll conducts a facial analysis and discusses your medical history and goals. While Juvederm gels labeled “XC” contain a numbing agent to minimize discomfort, you may request ice or topical numbing cream for added ease.
Unlike other cosmetic procedures that produce gradual effects, results of fillers Dr. Stoll uses appear immediately. You leave your appointment with more youthful-looking skin.
The most common side effects — such as bruising, pain, redness, and swelling — tend to be mild or moderate and temporary. If you have multiple or severe allergies or allergies to filler ingredients, do not use them. Tell Dr. Stoll if you have history of excessive scarring or a pigment disorder or if you plan to have a chemical peel or laser treatment soon after.
You should be able to return to your usual activities after your treatment. Manufacturers recommend limiting alcoholic beverages, significant sun or heat exposure, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Because each dermal filler formula is different, results vary. If you’re concerned about the longevity of your results, talk to Dr. Stoll prior to your treatment. While some fillers last for six months, Juvederm may last one to two years.
The cost of treatment varies depending on the filler and how much you need for your desired results. While less expensive fillers exist, quality is important. Dr. Stoll can help you determine your best option.
