Acne Treatment
Acne occurs when the pores in your skin are blocked with oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells that clog your pores. These skin cells, sebum (oily, waxy matter secreted from your glands), dead skin, and hair clump together to plug pores, causing an infection and resulting in inflammation, or a pimple. Acne is not discriminatory, and for most people, pimples and acne start to appear during puberty and last into the early 20s, and in more severe cases, even well into adulthood.
Botox
Botox works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles that cause fine lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth, also known as expression lines. By blocking the nerve signals, muscles in the injection site become temporarily paralyzed, thus softening or eliminating wrinkles from the area. These results can last up to three months, and the treatment takes about five minutes to complete.
Warts Treatment
Warts are noncancerous growths that appear on the skin of patients who are infected with one of the many strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV). The HPV virus triggers unnecessary new cell growth which makes the outer layer of the patient’s skin become thicker, resulting in a wart.
Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic, common skin condition caused by an immune response that prompts cells to build up quickly at the surface of the skin. This results in patches of red, scaly skin that are itchy and sometimes painful. Most commonly, psoriasis is found on the outside of the elbows, knees, or scalp, although it can appear anywhere. It is not contagious but can be associated with other serious medical conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, and depression.
Skin Cancer
There are three major types of skin cancer: basal cell cancer, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Each of these skin cancers is primarily caused by too much exposure to the sun, but genetics may also play a role in increasing your risk for skin cancer.
Eczema
Eczema, a word literally meaning “irritated skin,” is a chronic medical condition that may require medical management from a dermatologist. Our board certified dermatologists are here to help you manage and minimize the itchy and painful effects of eczema.
Exilis Elite Skin Tightening Procedure
The Exilis Elite is a non-surgical skin tightening system that uses radio frequency (RF) and Ultrasound energy waves to reduce fat and tighten loose skin on the face and body. The device uses RF to heat up deep tissue, which stimulates your body’s natural healing processes and produces tighter skin and increased collagen production.
Hair Loss
Hair loss can be the result of several underlying conditions, stress, or improper hair care. Many patients request an appointment once they notice that their hair is thinning or falling out, but sometimes, hair loss is not obvious.
Signs of hair loss include:
- Receding hairline
- Thinning of the hair on the scalp over time
- Balding that leaves the crown of the head exposed
- Sudden loss of patches of hair
- Loss of hair on the body
During your first appointment we will evaluate your concerns and ask questions about your lifestyle, medications, recent illnesses, general health, and family history before conducting a physical examination of your scalp or the hair loss area. For some patients, especially women,
blood work may be done so we can gain a better understanding of your hormone levels and overall health before proceeding with a treatment plan. Oftentimes, hair loss is a side effect of a medication you may be taking, hormonal imbalance, or other underlying issue.
Treating hair loss can be done at home or in our office depending on the type of procedure best suited for your needs. Treatment plan depends upon the cause of the problem.
